I need some help! I'm looking to repower, and I have a bead on a 1994 Johnson Ocean Runner 150. Engine looks virtually new, and has been stored for last 5 years due to damaged boat. He says it was fresh and ran very well in 2001 when it was stored. You can also use the Quick Silver 80W90 gear lube if you like purple oil and want to spend more $$. Or better yet, if you can find the OMC ultra HPF or Hi-Vis gear lube, you can go directly by the service manual and spend ... On the back of the engine there is a sensor that will have a brown wire and a yellow. If you ground the yellow wire while the engine is running it should slow down. That lets you know that the sensor is bad or the t-stats are stuck open. On the carb adjustment, turn the screws counter clockwise for richer and clockwise for leaner.Mar 19, 2014. #3. It was winterizied for me) ( I did fill it up before taking it out) plugs were changed at start of season and beginning of last seasion can't recall what type but I put the proper ones and gapped per manufacturer specs.Spray Paint & Color Charts. I would inspect the wiring between the Quickstart sensor and the powerpack, to look for shorts. Extra smoke means extra oil.
