my recent example is tiny map with endgame of 4 ai alive and ~6 city states. was suzerain of 5 cities and ally of 2 AI.. was doing science victory. just trying to load a city screen can take up to 10 to 15 seconds. perhaps it would run better if did not see the whole map. doesnt stop me from playing yet though.. im a patient man.I've heard about maps like this, and I can't help but wonder if there's such a thing for Civ 6 yet.
